Well unfortunately I'm struggling with the HDMI output as well 8-)
I'm trying both with ALSA and Pulseaudio, they only have an "Analog Output" device, and no HDMI… Here's the output from alsa and pulseaudio:

$ pacmd list-sources

device.description = "Monitor of apq8064-tabla-snd-card Analog Stereo"
device.class = "monitor"
alsa.card = "0"
alsa.card_name = "apq8064-tabla-snd-card"
alsa.long_card_name = "apq8064-tabla-snd-card"
device.bus_path = "platform-soc:snd"
sysfs.path = "/devices/platform/soc/soc:snd/sound/card0"
device.string = "0"
module-udev-detect.discovered = "1"
device.icon_name = "audio-card"

And alsa:

$ aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: apq8064tablasnd [apq8064-tabla-snd-card], device 0: MultiMedia1 (*) []
Subdevices: 0/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

And no sound goes from the HDMI or Analog outputs. There should be some HDMI device in there, right?
Is there anything special I need to do, or the HDMI audio should just work on a fresh install?
Thanks!

Oh ok, thank you. I'll be using the HDMI output then.

hello,
this is expected. Analog audio is not supported in the Linaro release currently. Only HDMI audio is working.
cheers

Hello,
I have some problems with the Linux audio – no sound goes out of the jack and I'm not sure if this is a known thing or I've messed something up.
I'm using the 15.03 linaro release, with pulseaudio 6.0 (removed the default version 4). When I play a youtube video, I can see in the pulseaudio volume control app, there is a sound detected – the sound meter moves – however no audio goes out of the jack.
In the list of available devices I have "Analog stereo output" and "Analog mono output" – changing them doesn't help.

Is this something that I've messed up, audio is supposed to be working, right?
Also if you can give any hints on where to look and how to diagnose it, would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I have the same problem with Linaro 15.04 release, while the release notes report "HDMI display and audio" as working.
How can I currently make them working?

Thanks
