Bad wifi performance

Questions and discussions related to Inforce 6410

on my IFC640 board I am experiencing very bad wifi performances, both with the official ubuntu BSP and with the 15.04 linaro release. The connection is slow and not stable and even working through textual ssh on the same WLAN is often a pain (slow cursor, delay between typing letters and seeing them etc).

I tried pinging my router from the board and obtained very erratic values for the delay:

Code: Select all
linaro@linaro-gnome:~$ ping
PING ( 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=5.53 ms
64 bytes from icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=103 ms
64 bytes from icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=121 ms
64 bytes from icmp_seq=4 ttl=64 time=50.1 ms
64 bytes from icmp_seq=5 ttl=64 time=68.6 ms
64 bytes from icmp_seq=6 ttl=64 time=86.6 ms
64 bytes from icmp_seq=7 ttl=64 time=114 ms
64 bytes from icmp_seq=8 ttl=64 time=32.7 ms
64 bytes from icmp_seq=9 ttl=64 time=50.5 ms
--- ping statistics ---
9 packets transmitted, 9 received, 0% packet loss, time 8014ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 5.533/70.412/121.503/37.035 ms

As a reference, on the same network a ping from a laptop has an average of 2~3ms.

Someone other is experiencing the same issues?

Possibly found a workaround: disabling powersave with

Code: Select all
iw dev wlan0 set power_save off

seems to solve the issue
